In order to lead frontline social workers in the development of multiple models to help the economically disadvantaged, Fu Jen Catholic University’s College of Social Sciences is conducting its “Out of Poverty: Diverse Social Work Development Program” to provide social workers with better knowledge and tools through both actual practice and academic research. Specifically, the faculty members of the Department of Social Work are involved in developmental social work and offer related courses (such as financial social work practicum, developmental social work, financial social work, community work, prevention of drug and alcohol abuse, art therapy, mental health, human behavior and social environment, and social work for indigenous peoples); they also founded a journal titled Financial Social Work and Poverty Studies, trained financial social workers, and organized a total of twelve social work and multi-model service events (e.g., green social work experience activities, lecture series on indigenous peoples, and so forth). In addition, in order to alleviate the poverty caused by educational disadvantage in the remote areas of Taiwan, FJCU’s Department of Japanese Language and Literature has been providing an online learning platform through the “2019 Ministry of Education Online Tutoring Program—Partner University Implementation Program”, and recruits FJCU students to tutor students in remote areas online every week. Furthermore, faculty members work closely with teachers in remote areas to give FJCU students educational training so that the students are able to provide quality education.

為了帶動第一線社工發展多元模式,來扶助經濟弱勢對象,本校社會科學院進行「脫貧/脫困大作戰  多元社會工作發展計畫」,從實務和學術雙管齊下,提供更好的知識和工具。具體作為諸如社工系老師投入發展性社會工作;開設相關課程(財務社會工作的實作、發展性社會工作、財務社會工作、社區工作專題、藥癮酒癮防治、藝術治療、心理衛生、人類行為與社會環境、原住民族社會工作);創辦「財務社會工作與貧窮研究」學刊;培訓財務社會工作人員;辦理社會工作與多元服務活動共十二場 (例如綠色社會工作體驗活動、原住民族系列講座等)。另外為了改善臺灣偏鄉因教育弱勢導致貧困,本校日本語文學系透過「教育部108年數位學伴計畫-夥伴大學實施計畫」,提供線上服務學習平台,招募輔大學生每週線上陪伴偏鄉學童。此外系所師長更與偏鄉師長通力合作,透過教育訓練輔導大學生進行有品質的教學。
