Huilong Chinese School in Northern Thailand
Located in northern Thailand, Chiang Rai is a forgotten land in the remote mountainous region between China, Myanmar, and Thailand. The local Chinese language education remains a work in progress due to a lack of teaching resources; the textbooks used by the local community were provided by the Overseas Community Affairs Council of Taiwan (elementary Chinese textbooks). Students lag behind in their studies, and there is a dearth of teachers, requiring volunteers to be recruited to keep classes going. In 2018, FJCU got in touch with Father Vinai and Principal Fan of Huilong Chinese School to find out what the people of the area needed.

* By working with Father Vinai of Huilong Chinese School in northern Thailand, FJCU learned that communities in the region are challenged on three fronts due to historical factors: social issues, a lack of teachers, and lack of education
* FJCU collaborated with the Department of Biology of the University of San Carlos to improve the productivity of livestock
* FJCU collaborated with University of Leuven to hold seminars for cultural exchange
* FJCU collaborates with domestic and international agencies in an effort to enable the sharing of medical knowledge across languages
* FJCU collaborates with the New Sorbonne University on intercultural exchange between two cities
