Implementation of Policies to Support Female Labor Force Participation 2020

FJCU has regulations in place with regard to pregnancy leave, paternity leave, and so on to support female labor force participation; Details are as follows:
FJCU Regulations on leave-taking for faculty:
1. Pre-natal leave: for pregnant teachers, 8 days of leave before labor, eligible to apply for each pregnancy.
2. Pregnancy leave: Postpartum leave of 42 days after labor; miscarriage at 5 months or more is given miscarriage leave of 42 days; miscarriage at 3 months or more but less than 5 months is given miscarriage leave of 21 days; miscarriage at less than 3 months is given miscarriage leave of 14 days.
3. Paternity leave: 5 days of leave to accompany postpartum spouse, eligible to apply for each delivery.

FJCU Regulations Governing Staff Service (for staff members):
1. Pre-natal leave: 8 days of leave before labor, eligible to apply for each pregnancy.
Pregnancy leave: Pregnancy leave of 56 days before and after labor; miscarriage at 20 weeks or more is given miscarriage leave of 56 days; miscarriage at 12 weeks or more but less than 20 weeks is given miscarriage leave of 28 days; miscarriage at less than 12 weeks is given miscarriage leave of 21 days.
Paternity leave: 5 days of leave to accompany postpartum spouse, or to accompany spouse who suffered miscarriage at 20 weeks or above; eligible to apply for each pregnancy.

The FJCU Regulations Governing Leave-Taking for Students have specific clauses pertaining to pregnancy leave and paternity leave for students. These were added as amendments and passed in student affairs meetings held in 2019 and 2020.
