FJCU offers advanced placement courses for high school students so they can become familiar with the university curriculum beforehand. Scholarships are also offered to outstanding female students from Zonta International. In addition, pregnant students are allowed to delay matriculation for a year, with the option to delay it another year under special circumstances; these students can request to have a makeup examination or use other measures to complete their course, subject to the instructors approval. For pregnant students, their period of suspension would not count towards the time limit for suspension from school. The period of study may be extended to a maximum of 4 years.
