FJCU offers an inter-disciplinary program on gerontology 2019

To meet the needs of an ageing society, FJCU established an inter-disciplinary program on gerontology in 2005 with the support of the Ministry of Education via the Teaching Excellence Project; through the consolidation of teaching resources pertaining to gerontology at FJCU (including the departments of medicine, nursing, social work, nutritional science, clinical psychology, physical education, and restaurant, hotel, and institutional management). The program actively cultivates students who are concerned with the trends of an ageing society, respectful of life experiences and the sharing of those stories, eager to create an age-friendly environment and explore opportunities for the elderly care industry, and devoted to advance a society where people can be aged and active at the same time, in order to meet the demand for such talent in Taiwan. The program serves to realize FJCUs goal with the Teaching Excellence Project, which is to help create a society in which elderly people are respected, honored, and celebrated.
