At the end of December 2020, the Fu Jen Catholic University team went to the New Taipei City Government, and the two parties jointly held the "In order to promote the sustainable development of the Daxinzhuang area, the Fu Jen Catholic University and the New Taipei City Government cooperated on the USR and SDGs project research conference", Fu Jen Catholic University proposed Eight major USR and SDGs projects focus on the "New Taipei New Wutai Area" where the school is located, and cooperate with 16 relevant units in New Taipei City to establish 4 USR communities and class groups to integrate the United Nations SDGs sustainable development goals. Promote social innovation and implement university social responsibilities. It is hoped that each plan can be implemented in detail, and each plan can become the seeds of plan practice and form a model. Finally, the model will be successfully replicated in various areas of New Taipei City. In order to utilize the natural wind power in Taiwan Strait, windfarm projects have been proposed to the government and obtained the greenlight by the department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency. However, NGOs focused on the construction and operation of wind turbines may damage the marine mammals and bird species along the coastline. A conference held by EPA in October 2019 invited numerous experts from Europe and Taiwan to discuss the possible impact and minimization procedures for the off-shore windfarms.
In response to the Ministry of Education in order to solve the problem of insufficient education resources for elementary and middle schools in remote areas, the school’s Taiwan Rural Education and Care Center undertook the operation and overall management of the Ministry of Education’s digital partner operation center. Each year, it counsels and connects 26 partner universities across Taiwan to serve 128 national secondary schools. Elementary school/digital opportunity center to assist in the establishment of partner universities to implement related operations and management mechanisms. With the core value of "life accompanies life, life teaches life", we cultivate the spirit of social service and digital care for students in tertiary institutions, use information technology to integrate into learning, enhance students' interest in learning, and promote the promotion of education and culture in remote areas.
