FJCU participates in international collaborations and research projects 2019

FJCU encourages its teachers to engage in academic collaborations with international organizations, and to strengthen cooperative ties with international partners. Through engaging in academic exchanges across a range of topics, the university can create links to other international institutions in key academic fields, and in turn spur the exchange of ideas and increase the number of visiting scholars, foster research talents, and enhance the development of our capabilities in scientific research. For instance, Professor Tu Chi-shun of FJCUs Graduate Institute of Applied Sciences and Engineering worked with the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of San Carlos on a project that employed a fermentation system and technique that used intelligent microbes in order to develop from various marine macroalgae a poultry feed additive that aided livestock growth. Also, Professor Lee Yih-jing of FJCUs School of Medicine collaborated with Professor Paul C. Wang from Howard Universitys College of Medicine on research regarding the pathogenesis of retinal degenerative diseases, and then conducting further investigation to develop ways to diagnose and treat those diseases.
