FJCU has been proactively committed to a 1-on-1 distance learning companion program to lessen possible insufficient resources issues for 128 elementary and middle schools altogether. Each month, 9 student volunteer groups head to such aforesaid rural tribal areas to partake in childcare-related problem-solving initiatives. With supports from both government and FJCU’s hospital, FJCU hosts several youth incubation workshops and youth repatriation-focused initiatives. Currently, there are 70 cultural & health stations altogether set up across 155 stops in northern Taiwan. This set up has a roughly 45% engagement rate for elderly-related care. Likewise for this set up, database is constructed with focal points on dietary intake, elderly lifestyles, and health index. By linking FJCU’s academic prowess and hospital resources, the elderly’s overall health and mental well-beings can be better constructed. Ultimately, this linkage empowers relevant medical units to comprehensively recognize the elderly’s health status in real-time and places more weight on disease prevention at the very onset. With all the above, along with strengthens FJCU’s overall social impacts in the community and beyond.
