Taking on the responsibility to preserve the cheongsam and the traditional clothing of indigenous peoples 2020

International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC)

The College of Fashion and Textiles has implemented two projects: an exhibition titled The Age of the Cheongsam—One Hundred Years of Craftsmanship, Memory, and Heritage, which is part of the Taiwan Cultural Memory Bank project led by the Ministry of Culture; and the “Constructing a Network for the Protection of Cultural Assets – Talent Cultivation in the College of Cultural Heritage” project. The purpose of the projects is to preserve records, pass down knowledge, and cultivate talent when it comes to intangible cultural assets such as cheongsam tailoring techniques, paper flower wrapping, and the traditional clothing of indigenous peoples.
