FJCU has initiatives to reduce carbon emissions 2021

International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC)

Completed:
1. The lighting for 6 buildings has been switched to LED lights, resulting in a reduction of 939.4 tons of CO2 emissions.
2. In the academic year of 2019, 133 air conditioning units with class 1 energy labels were installed. These units are 10-15% more energy efficient than air conditioning units without such labels.
3. To reduce carbon emissions, two golf carts were purchased for transportation within the campus
In progress: In the academic year of 2020, we will only purchase air conditioning units with energy labels.
Future plans:
1. All air conditioning units must have class one energy labels.
2. The purchase of electric vehicles is prioritized for university vehicle use.
