Collaboration with the Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU) Hospital to host the Taiwan-U.S. COVID-19 Prevention Cooperation Press Conference on the Modular Hospital Ward Design on 15th May, 2020 with the premise to reveal a high-tech modular hospital ward that could be assembled in 48 hours. The MAC (modular, adaptable, convertible) ward was developed by the FJCU Hospital in collaboration with the Taiwan company Miniwiz.
Fu Jen President Chiang summed up his vision for FJCU in the next four years with the acronym ‘hope’ (heritage, originality, progress, and endowment). Heritage for actualizing the goals and vision of a comprehensive Catholic university that has positive societal impact. Originality for advocating centers such as the Creative Design Center and AI Development Center. Progress for fostering collaborations between FJCU Hospital and various departments, and increasing the output of research projects. Endowment for aspiring towards an endowment fund of NTD $100 billion by the school’s 100th birthday. President Chiang added “although this might seem like a faraway dream but our faith in God can push us to accomplish the unthinkable.”
