As the largest university in New Taipei City, FJCU invests at least NT$200 million in research innovation and industry–academia collaboration to establish collaboration partnerships between the government, corporations, charity organisations, and stakeholders. FJCU participated in the discussion of key national issues. For example, after the Bromopropane poisoning incident that affected six labourers in November 2013, FJCU held numerous discussion meetings and formally established an acceptable environmental exposure limit for Bromopropanein in 2018. In 2019, in response to national green policies and environmental protection concerns pertaining to the establishment of an offshore wind farm, the University and the Environmental Protection Administration held a seminar attended by Taiwanese and overseas experts to discuss the impact of the offshore wind farms on marine mammals and birds. In 2020, the University and 16 agencies of the New Taipei City Government held a formal dialogue on the sustainable development and common prosperity of Hsinchuang, Wugu, and Taishan. Accordingly,FJCU established four teams and proposed eight main solutions, which are expected to be implemented in 2021.
In 2020, FJCU and government held the following dialogues and collaborations relating to the fields of education, youth employment, and local placemaking::

Holding seminars on education, student counselling, and campus safety with the government

To promote national defence education, student counselling, and campus safety and maintenance, on November 5, 2020, FJCU held the Second General Meeting of the Campus Safety Maintenance for Universities in Northern Taiwan and the National Defence Education Resource Center in 2020 (i.e., National Defence Education Visiting Event). Collaborating with New Taipei City Government to improve FJCU’s innovative capacity to achieve the vision of regional development, youth employment, and spatial revitalisation

FJCU and New Taipei City collaborated to hold the 2020 North Coast Fashion Art Festival. By using the newly opened Fuji fishing port as an example, the fashion art provided fishers with a safer working environment and other benefits that are not limited to fishing. The fashion art festival was held to promote the fashion industry and academia, realise the spatial potential of the fishing port, and provide New Taipei City youths in the design industry with a space to express their creativity. Furthermore, FJCU, New Taipei City Government, and Taiwan Textile Federation, R. O. C. signed the Declaration of Youth-Friendly Collaboration, thereby contributing FJCU’s innovative energy to youth employment and spatial revitalisation applications.
