Project on the Survey and Analysis of Occupational Health in High-Risk Industries and the Promotion of Occupational Health 2019

FJCUs Department of Public Health was commissioned by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the Ministry of Labor to head a project on establishing an agreement between partners in the industrial manufacturing supply chain to ensure worker safety. Industry leaders will lead the way in increasing the overall occupational health of workers in plants up and down the supply chain; FJCU will work with companies in the semiconductor, dye, and automobile manufacturing supply chains, and co-organize occupational health promotion and consultation services, such respiratory protection management, the management and storage of chemicals, and performance evaluations of ventilation systems. Observation sessions related to occupational health are also implemented as part of the project, including sessions on the classification and management of chemicals, the establishment of respiratory protection plans, and the monitoring and assessment of exposure to toxins in work environments, all of which are key occupational health issues highlighted by OSHA.

  • Assisted 58 companies across three industries, conducting a total of 97 on-site consultation services
  • 15 observation sessions conducted, with 362 participants
