College of Fashion and Textiles SDGs 4, 8, 9, 17
Since 2017, volunteers studying in the Department of Textiles and Clothing have consistently devoted their time and effort to help an orphanage (called Zhenfuhua Orphanage in Chinese) that is strapped for resources in a remote part of Vietnam through the design and development of textile products, lessons on how to manufacture the products, and finding volunteers and channels to market the products. The students teach the children at the orphanage sewing techniques, and to develop a positive attitude towards life and work as well as their ability to work in teams, imbuing them with confidence and an understanding of aesthetics and creativity.
