FJCU’s involvement in central government policies 2020

FJCU was directly involved in or offered suggestions for a total of 6 SDG-related policies, and plays a part in formulating laws and regulations as well as developing national policies. This includes ensuring good health and well-being for all ages (SDG 3), providing all people with equal opportunity to quality education and promoting lifelong learning (SDG 4), and assisting in formulating other policies that pertain to SDGs 3, 4, and 16.

The list of policies the school is involved in is as follows:

1. FJCU established an innovation index for the international accreditation of health-promoting schools in Taiwan, and proposed a policy for health-promoting schools. It also assisted in advancing the Ministry of Education’s lifelong learning goals by setting up University of Third Age, giving the elderly a college experience

2. Provided the competent authorities with expert advice on the drafting of policies regarding respiratory treatment

3. Provided the government with advice on establishing policies concerning cervical cancer testing.

4. Assisted the government in formulating policies regarding HPV vaccination risk assessment, control, and monitoring

5. Oversaw and reviewed the development of clinical skills questions for the national examination for physicians in Taiwan, and assigned faculty members to serve as exam board members.

6. Researched and discussed reviews of maritime adjudications related to Taiwan, and provided recommendations for future legislation in maritime procedure.
