FJCU Laboratory Waste Disposal Guidelines 2019

In 2007, FJCU issued its guidelines on the disposal of laboratory waste to regulate the effectiveness of its laboratory waste management, increase awareness of environmental protection among students and teachers, and familiarize everyone at the school with the classification and disposal of waste. The guidelines were developed in accordance with Standards for Defining Hazardous Industrial Waste. All students, faculty, and staff should follow these guidelines to classify and handle dispose of waste properly in order to reduce the total amount of waste, prevent waste-related pollution, ensure environmental safety, and maximize the availability of resources. The temporary storage site of waste liquid at FJCU is equipped with ventilation systems, explosion-proof plumbing and lamps, adsorption tower, first aid equipment, and scrubber to prevent waste gas, generated by waste liquid, from polluting surrounding areas. Regular maintenance is carried out for equipment and systems associated with waste treatment.
