FJCU Disability access scheme 2021

The University provides support programs and customized services specifically for people with physical or mental disabilities. The specific details are as follows:
Since special education students have relative difficulty learning in the classroom due to their disabilities, in order to support students in completing their courses, students may apply for tutoring in the Resource Room on campus.

  1. In the 2019 , 15 students applied for tutoring services in 19 different subjects, which cost NTD$83,870. In the 2020 school year, 13 students applied for tutoring services in 15 different subjects, which cost NTD$67,285.

  2. To assess the practicality of visually impaired students using computers as well as their ability to do so, the Resource Room assists in testing their ability to work with information technology, and provides specialized computers and software for the examination. A total of 5 visually impaired students passed the information technology ability test in the academic years of 2019 and 2020.

  3. A total of 81 students in the 2020 were eligible for the Special Education Grant for Outstanding Students, and were awarded a total amount of NTD$1,436,000. A total of 89 students were eligible for the grant in the 2019, and were awarded a total amount of NTD$1,544,000.


For graduates who seek employment in the future, the Resource Room has helped refer them to the labor administrative agencies in their place of residence; 30 students were referred in the 2020.
