FJCU Access to university track underrepresented groups applications 2021

In order to protect students’ privacy, FJCU has no statistics or records of LGBT students. However, in compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education, the number of subsidies for students from low- and middle-income families, those with disabilities and their children, children of indigenous students and families in special circumstances are estimated to be around 3,000 per academic year, totaling an amount of approximately NT$95 million.
In addition, FJCU is the first university in Taiwan to establish a Resource Center for Indigenous Students to develop the multicultural character of the campus, integrating FJCU’s resources to provide assistance for students of various indigenous groups and improve their life and study guidance to increase the learning effectiveness and quality of indigenous students. FJCU also encourages indigenous students to return home after graduation to contribute and give back to their hometowns.
In 2017, FJCU set up a master’s degree program for indigenous students in the Department of Financial and Economic Law, with 25 indigenous students enrolled each year. The total number of indigenous students in FJCU reached 514 in 2017, 511 in 2018, 470 in 2019, and 522 in 2020.
